4 reasons why you should love wearing linen

I’m so OBSESSED with linen clothing lately! I think it’s THE perfect clothing for those hot summer days. Here’s why:

1// It’s lightweight! Linen is a natural fibre and it’s made from a stalk of a plant called lax. Planning a vacay to somewhere warm? Pack linen clothes! Believe me, they won’t take up a lot of space in your suitcase. But be careful! Linen gets wrinkles so easily, so folding (or rolling) and adding some sheets of tissue paper in between will help your clothes to get less wrinkles.

2// It’s breathable. Need I say more? This kind of breezy fabric disperses and releases heat. However, I recommend going for lighter shades such as beige, white, or sand shades. They won’t absorb heat.

3// Unlike cotton, linen allows you to do all sort of activities without worrying for sweating. It actually has a quicker time to dry, plus it prevents bacterial growth. Wow! Isn’t that awesome? So for the mommies out there, taking your kids to a playground (or chasing them or carrying your baby in one arm) wouldn’t cause awkward situations:)

4// It never goes out of style. Linen always comes back. Plus, it’s so versatile. It’s so easy to dress it up or down. I seriously can’t wait to share more linen outfits with you!

Now, here comes the headache part (or should I say challenging part?). I don’t know about you, but I HATE ironing clothes, especially linen. Geez, I never knew how to get them wrinkle-free (hanging in the shower doesn’t work for me)…until I found two most effective ways to remove wrinkles from (linen) clothes. First, a standing steamer is such a game changer! It works perfectly and it saves you lots of time too. If you don’t own a steamer, use some towels. Simply place your item between two damping towels (make sure it’s not too wet). Then, press out the wrinkles by using your hands. Et voilà, your linen item is wrinkle-free!

Would you go linen this season?

Linen is such a nice type of fabric. I totally agree with the breathable part. It’s great for the summer without having to go sleeveless or anything. It’s pretty neat that it’s quicker to dry as well. Thanks for sharing these reasons!

It’s a timeless classic indeed. Love how you styled it with black tee underneath and basic denim pants dear. Really highlights the linen top.
