I’m sure you’ve all noticed: the neckerchief trend has made a comeback! The neckerchief or neck scarf is literally popping up everywhere! The size of this piece of cloth may be small, but it can make a huge difference when it comes to styling. A neckerchief is the easiest and quickest way to spice up a boring outfit. It is the finishing touch to any outfit, I’d say!
Today I’ll be sharing three differents ways to tie a neckerchief, easy, simple and it won’t cost you that much time.
The classic knot (also known as the square knot) is probably the most popular knot to tie. It’s chic, feminine and it does make you feel like oh so Parisian!
First, fold your scarf into a triangle. Roll it until you reach the end. You’ll have a long band now. Then, wrap it around the neck. Make sure the right end is a few cm longer than the left.
Now use the right over left, left over right method. Start with the right end. Take the right end and cross it over the left. Then, tie a regular overhand (basic) knot.
Take the (new) left end and do the same thing, yet in the opposite way. Left over right. Create a little loop by crossing the left end over the right. Make sure the ends are even with equal lengths.
For a more ‘looking effortlessly cool and casual without trying too hard’ feel, loosen the knot a little and you’re done!
The choker is like an old friend to most of us. Why not wear the neckerchief as a choker?
Wrap the scarf around the neck and bring the ends forward.
Tie the ends in a simple (overhand) knot et voilà: hello choker!
Take the choker to the next level by simply adding a knot to the neckerchief.
Start with tying a knot in the center of the neckerchief. Then, wrap it around the neck with the ends in front.
Twist, wrap or whatever you like, the ends and tuck them into the scarf. Once you’re done, bring the middle knot to the front. And you’re done!
Alright, that’s it for today! I hope you liked these methods of wearing a neckerchief! Personally, the choker is my favourite way of wearing a neckerchief. It just adds a little edgyness to an outfit. Which one is your fave?
