Mommy to mommy :: five pregnancy essentials for third trimester

Hi everyone!

Say what? Another pregnancy topic?! Are you getting tired of me yet? I know everyone is talking about spring wardrobe essentials and maybe I should write about the spring season too. But if I had to choose between spring or pregnancy essentials, I’d rather talk about pregnancy must-haves for the third trimester. Why? Because I know how hard it can be. So I’d like to help other mommies-to-be to get through the final weeks. Sharing is caring, right? :)

1. Pregnancy pillow

I never thought I would love using pregnancy pillows. My friend got me this when I was 19 weeks pregnant. At that time, I didn’t have much of a bump yet. She said such pillow is so comfortable and it helps to support my bump as well. She convinced me and I’ve tried using it. But oh boy, I ended up with lower back pain the next day! I couldn’t believe it, this pillow is supposed to be comfy right? I was disappointed and I’ve stopped using it since. However, I gave it a second shot  and you know what? I need to take back my words. It’s comfy! I finally understood the benefits of using a pregnancy pillow. Even Wai finds ‘Mr Snake’ comfortable!

2. Long handled shoe horn

As a child, I’ve seen my dad using shoe horns every time when he puts on his (leather) shoes. I guess I can’t live without shoe horns because of him. Shoe horns might be old-fashioned, but they are so handy especially when you’re pregnant and you can’t see your own feet anymore.

3. Bra extender

If you don’t want to spend any more money on new bras in the final weeks, a bra extender is such a life saver. Believe me, it makes a world of difference!

4. Post-it notes

If you are losing your memory (which is very common during a pregnancy), post-it notes might be your best friend. Post-it or sticky notes are not just for the office! Whenever I’m having an appointment, I always write it down and stick it all over our place.

5. Baby on Board badge

As I’ve already mentioned it in my previous mommy to mommy post, using public transport might be challenging for pregnant women. People don’t always see my bump as I’m still wearing my winter coat (spring is not quite here yet). My little sister got me this handy baby on board badge. She told me it’s very common for pregnant women to wear this when using public transport in London. This badge comes at the right time! I no longer have to ask for a seat, most passengers automatically give up their seat when they see me. Saves me a lot of frustration.

Are there any essentials you couldn’t live without during your pregnancy?

Thank you for taking the time to read my post. I truly hope you find these useful! Until next time,
