Dressing the baby bump :: how to rock the oversized biker jacket (without looking bulky)

Hi there!

I hope you have been well! I’m officially 36 weeks and 2 days pregnant now! Can you believe it?! We’re almost there! Only 4 more weeks to go, eeeek! Are you excited as we are?!

If you would have asked me which trimester is worst, I would definitely say the third! Fatigue has been taking over my life lately..As I’m close to my due date (April 5th to be precise), I have to slown down a bit. My body requires a lot of rest. Over the past few weeks I’ve pushed myself a little too hard. I wanted to complete a lot of things on my bucket list before our little boy arrives. Before I got pregnant, multitasking was so easy peasy. Now, I become tired very easily especially when it comes to my feet and legs. They feel extremely exhausted at the end of the day — not to mention my lower back! I’ve learned listening to your body is so important for your health, especially when you’re carrying your “own kettlebell” every single day.

Anyways, let’s move on to the ootd! In my outfit today I wore an oversized biker jacket from Zara. You probably can’t miss it. This jacket has been so popular and it was sold out immediately! Luckily, I was able to get my hands on one of these beautiful jackets. I absolutely love the masculine and feminine twist of this jacket. It’s versatile, keeps me warm due to the faux fur lining and it can really spice up a boring outfit into a stylish ensemble.

We all know oversized items are super comfy to wear. However, this outerwear piece might also be tricky to wear when you’re pregnant. Why? Well, I don’t know about you, but for me, I definitely don’t want to hear I look bigger in it, just because I’m preggo.

But how can we “prevent” such comments and rock this jacket without looking bulky? Here are a few tips:
• try to wear a sweater underneath which is made of fine materials such as cotton. Don’t go for chunky sweaters.
• opt for slim-fit trousers or skinny jeans.
• if the weather allows, go for a (black) mini skirt. Don’t forget to wear (black) shimmer tights as they elongate your legs.
• depending on what hairstyle you have, wear your hair down. It can make your face look slimmer.
• wear a scarf if you don’t want to draw the focus to your bump.
• do NOT zip up your jacket. Just..don’t.

Alright, that’s it for today! I hope you found these useful!
Would you wear an oversized biker jacket? If yes, how would you style it?
